Our courses can be completed using the following three options:-

Option 1: Manual Handling Theory Training only, for those employees who are not involved in hazardous manual handling but need to understand the principles of safe lifting and when it is safe to lift and when they should get help.

Option 2: Manual Handling Training with practical assessment by video upload. This is our most popular course, employees complete the online theory, then they go to their workplace to practice their lifting techniques. When they are ready they upload videos of themselves performing a range of lifting techniques. These lifting techniques are then assessed by our QQI certified instructors, who provide feedback. If the manual handling techniques are acceptable the instructor will issue the certificate immediately which can be downloaded directly from the learner profile in the Academy. If they are not successful the instructor will give them guidance, and advise them to upload additional videos. The great thing about this manual handling course is that the employee can perform their lifting techniques at work using items they would normally lift.
Option 3: Manual Handling Training with practical assessment by live video link. Employees complete the online theory, then at the end of the course they will have access to a calendar where they can book a live practical lifting session with one of our experience QQI qualified instructors. We limit the practical sessions to 4 people so that we can give each participant individual time and they can learn from viewing each other's lifting techniques. In the event that the employee, is not successful at demonstrating the techniques, the instructor will arrange a one-to-one live video session at no extra cost. The great thing about this course, like the manual handling with video upload is that the practical lifting session can be carried out directly in the employees workplace.

Our Manual Handling Instructor Refresher course is ideal for employees who have already completed their QQI Level 6 Manual Handling Instructor training and need to keep their skills up to date. You will complete comprehensive theory training, followed by you uploading videos of yourself performing a range of lifting techniques, including explaining the principles of lifting. These will be assessed by our in-house experts and you will be provided with comprehensive and constructive feedback, followed by certification form Guardian Safety.
