Does this course include practical training?

No. This course is knowledge-based only. Employees must still receive practical training from their employer before operating abrasive wheels. Alternatively you can complete our training that include a practical assessment carried out by submitting videos of you selecting and assembling an wheel. This is assessed by our Abrasive Wheel Instructors and Health and Safety Expert.

Who should take this course?

This course is ideal for employees refreshing their knowledge, supervisors and managers who need to understand their responsibilities, and employees preparing for further in-house training by their employer

Is this course legally compliant?

Yes. It covers the knowledge requirements under the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER) and the Abrasive wheels Regulations.

It important to note that all health and safety training must be followed up with inhouse assessments and supervision to ensure employees can demonstrate a degree of competence commensurate with the work they carry out.

How long does the course take to complete?

The course can typically be completed in 1–2 hours online, at the learner’s own pace. You can come back to the content as you need.

How is the course assessed?

Learners complete a multiple-choice online quiz at the end of the course. A pass mark of 70% is required to download the certificate.

How long is the certificate valid for?

We recommend refresher training every 3 years, or sooner if there are changes in equipment, legislation, or working practices. However legislation does not specifically set down a time frame.

What type of certificate will I get with my Abrasive Wheels Training Course?

You will get a digital Certificate downloadable from your account page. This can be emailed to your employer and will include a link to the original certificate.
